Another successful BBFF

We had a great turnout for the 7th annual BBFF.  Many of the talented filmmakers were on hand, and the winners are:  Training Wheels by Sarah Fleming and (a tie) Changing Gears:  A Love Story by Tom Pilla, Georgia Bellas, Eta Shrestha and Martha Spizziri garnered the most votes by audience poll.  Second place went to the French Canadian film, Grand Cycle by Kyril Dube, and third place was the Brazilian movie, O Veiculo Fantastico by Nicole DiSante.  Thank you all who attended and also to the many sponsors, volunteers and the great press we had.  And now on to next year!

Call for Entries

We'll be accepting entries for the 7th annual BBFF until September 1st.  We've already received many films, and I think we're going to have another exciting year.

Tonight - the 2nd annual Ciclismo Classico Bike Film Festival

At the Regent Theatre in Arlington - doors at 7 p.m.  Films by Kris Carter and Lynette Chiang, along with last year's winner (Cycle of Love) from the Boston Bike Film Festival.  And many of the filmmakers will be on hand to meet and answer questions.  And the best part (besides the free swag) is that all the proceeds benefits Mass Bike!  So come in out of the rain and watch some flicks!

Upcoming Bike Month Events

It's been too cold to even write about biking (I know, I know, I'm a wimp).  But now that the warm weather is peeking out occasionally, it's time to start thinking about biking and of course, Bike Month!  Appropriate Woo Hoos to follow.  On Sunday May 1st, Urban Adventours is holding a kick-off and kick-ass party at Christopher Columbus Park from 12-5.  There will be rides, vendors, giveaways and booths for the BBFF, The Mass Bike Pike Tour, and Mass Bike, among others.  So save the date, hope for lots of warm sunshine and come down to the waterfront - preferably by bike!
